A year ago we were living off grid, in a 152 square feet with a puppy, two cats, no running water or electricity. I was working about 60 hours a week between my two jobs.
A year ago a day like today (snowing like crazy) would have only meant keeping the wood stove going, drinking hot beverages, and reading/crafting/going for walks in the snow.
This year we’re living in town, in a full sized house with running water, electricity with a dog, a cat and two adults with developmental disabilities. I work in some ways more, but in others less now.
This year a snow day means managing expectations of what we can go and do (nothing because we don’t have the new wheelchair van yet and the busses aren’t running) and doing chores while not going stir crazy myself.
