So far the new fruit trees are alive, which given the bizarre weather seems a stretch I’m pleased to note that one even has fruit. Granted it’s one of the “death” trees (more commonly known as peach trees. But none the less I’m pleased with it.
The wild chokecherry is setting fruit too.
And the standard apple is too tall and unmanageable right now (chainsaw style pruning for it this fall) so I’m not sure how much fruit is setting- we had a freeze and terrible wind at that crucial time between blossom and set.
